Yesterday I bought a beer with writing on the label "we get the yeast in Belgium".

I left the beer cooling for three hours in the refrigerator, then decanted yeast.
I made a solution with water and sugar (sanitized)

And I put in the bottle, but nothing so far.
This process can take?
It would be good to put vitamins for yeast?

How I make to post photos?

Thanks, I can send this beer for you...

Thats not good.

If you use fruit juice instead of sugar, you already have some vitamines in the solution.

The best way is to use wort, but fruit juice is handy for the first take off.

CiteerThis process can take?
1 to 5 days (if the beer is fresh).
I don't know if Belgian beers in Brazil are just as fresh as overhere.
Whe are direct neighbours of Belgium.

CiteerThanks, I can send this beer for you...
Mmm, if you pay the transport over the Atlantic.

theis beer is for my hometown...this is the best craft brewer in Brasil but just been sold to large brewery group...

you know producing yeast Belgium?

yes...I can pay the transport over the atlantic...

This seems to be a good piece of craftwork.

Citeeryou know producing yeast Belgium?
See my previous posting with the applejuice story.

I think it's a good idea to put 10cl applejuice in an Eisenbahn.
After the first signs of fermentation you double it with wort.

First things you really have to learn now is:
-patience
-hygiene
-patience
:D

The rest is the same as:
Citaat van: RobinB op 23-03-2010  15:46 uNot excactly, but you're in the right direction.
Try this:

Let the beer settle for a few days so that the sediment of yeast collects on the bottom.
Gently pour the beer in a glass, except the last approximately 20-30ml (1 cm of beer in a standing bottle).

This last part contains the yeast, which you can also see if you shake it gently. (beer gets cloudy)

For the first cultivation add some sterile applejuice from a newly opened carton of 200ml, or ad a solution of 10g/L sugar which has been boiled.
Add about 30-40 ml.

Put a cap on the bottle or a cotton in the bottleneck and leave it standing for a week.
Look if there is growth, or bubbles start to appear.
When you think it's alive, you can inoculate it to wort.

boil a liter of water with 100g of Dry Malt Extract (DME), let it cool down and add it (with your newly grown yeast) to a sterile bottle, flask or Erlenmeyer (2L). Put some cotton in the bottleneck to close it, or put some aluminum foil over it. With the subsequent growth, foam will appear on the surface.

Wait until activity is low or over, put the flask in the fridge to settle for a few days (1-2).
When the supernatant is clear you can gently pour it off, leaving the sediment in the flask.
Add new/more DME wort to this sediment slurry to allow more yeast growth. (optional)

When you have enough yeast use the sedimented slurry to inoculate your beer.
If all goes well, fermentation will start readilly!

Good luck!

Likely Hopmans means: put it in an Eisenbahn bottle...  :)

For the rest I begin to like Wamser more and more because he really would like to brew. Ok, better we comment in English so Wamser does not need to use some awkwerd online dictionary for his communications.

Wamser: good luck with your learning work until you have the first own brew!

Good work.
Don't forget to put some cotton wool in the mouth of the bottle to close it against bacteria.
And shake the bottle now and then in a way so the cotton wool don't get wet of course.

Citeersomeone knows this manufacturer?

I personally never heart of it.

I send the photos tomorrow ...

Juice should be natural, juices generally have chemical additives (preservatives)
can I do at home?

Wamser

Hopmans

Citaat van: Wamser op 24-03-2010  21:59 ujuices generally have chemical additives (preservatives)

Thats no problem for your starter.
If you can drink it, yeast can eat it.

Eventually the amount of preservatives is nothing in comparisation with your total batch.

OK...

I want to have success
thanks for any help!!!
